You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting info@laurelhillphl.com. Unsubscribing will not prevent necessary transactional or service-related communications, such as confirmations, event updates, receipts, or responses to requests.
How We Disclose Information
Laurel Hill does not sell personal information for money or rent donor or contact lists. Certain disclosures involving optional analytics or advertising technologies may be treated as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under some privacy laws even when no money is exchanged. Where applicable, you can limit those disclosures through our Privacy Preferences tool.
Service Providers
We may provide information to vendors that perform services on our behalf, including website hosting, technical support, payment processing, event registration, ticketing, cemetery and funeral-service administration, donor and membership management, communications, analytics, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, data backup, marketing, accounting, insurance, legal, and other professional services. These providers may access information only as reasonably necessary to perform services and are expected to protect it appropriately.
Third-Party Services Integrated into our Website
If you use an integrated or linked third-party service—such as a payment platform, event-registration service, burial-search tool, mapping service, video provider, form provider, or social-media platform—the information you provide directly to that service may be handled under the third party’s privacy practices. Laurel Hill does not control those independent practices.
Partner Organizations
Laurel Hill may collaborate with nonprofit, cultural, community, or other partner organizations on events and programs. We may promote a partner’s activities to our own mailing list without providing the partner with your contact information. We will disclose contact information to a partner for its own communications only when you authorize us, when the disclosure is clearly explained at collection, or when otherwise permitted by law.
Legal and Safety Purposes
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or legal process; is necessary to respond to an authorized government request; helps enforce agreements or policies; supports investigation of suspected fraud, security incidents, or unlawful activity; or protects the rights, safety, property, or operations of Laurel Hill or others.
Business Transfers
Information may be disclosed as part of a merger, reorganization, financing, transfer of operations or assets, or similar organizational transaction, subject to applicable protections.
De-Identified, Anonymized or Aggregated Data
We may aggregate, anonymize, and/or de-identify any information collected from you so that such information can no longer be linked to you or your device. We may use aggregated, de-identified or anonymized information for any purpose, including without limitation for research and marketing purposes, and may also share such data with any third parties, including advertisers, promotional partners, and sponsors, in our discretion.
Cemetery, Memorial, and Historical Records
Laurel Hill maintains burial, interment, cremation, property-ownership, genealogy, obituary, memorial, and historical records as part of its operations, mission, and legal responsibilities. Certain information may be made available through burial-search tools, memorial pages, archives, publications, tours, genealogy services, or responses to public research requests.
Information concerning deceased individuals may not be treated as personal information under certain privacy laws. Records that also contain information about living individuals will be handled in accordance with applicable law and Laurel Hill’s recordkeeping obligations.
If you submit photographs, stories, obituary information, memorial content, genealogy information, or other materials for publication or public use, Laurel Hill may publish or otherwise make those materials available as explained when they are submitted. Please do not provide private information about another living person unless you have permission or authority to do so.
Digital Advertising, Analytics, and Similar Technologies
Laurel Hill and its service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, web beacons, and similar technologies on the Services and in certain electronic communications. These technologies may operate and secure essential functions, remember preferences, maintain transaction or session information, measure website performance and communications, support embedded content, diagnose problems, and help prevent fraud.
Optional technologies may be provided by analytics, advertising, embedded-media, payment, ticketing, mapping, email, or social-media services. Depending on the technology and your selections, providers may collect information directly from your browser or device, including IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, links selected, and interactions with the Services or communications. Third parties handle this information under their own privacy policies.
We may use Google Analytics and similar services to understand website use and improve performance. Information about Google’s use of data from sites using its services is available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and Google provides an opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Essential technologies may be used because they are necessary to operate and secure the Services. Where required, analytics, functional, advertising, social-media, and other nonessential technologies will not be activated unless you provide consent. You may choose Accept All, Reject Nonessential, or Manage Preferences when the banner appears and may later change selections through the Privacy Preferences link in the website footer. Browser settings may also block or delete cookies, although some features may not work properly.
Some browsers offer Do Not Track settings. Because there is not a universally accepted standard for every such signal, the Services may not respond to every Do Not Track signal. Your browser may allow you to send a Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signal, which tells websites that you do not want your Personal Information sold or shared. We recognize and honor GPC signals as a valid opt-out request under applicable law. If you experience difficulty completing a transaction online, contact us at (610) 668-9900.
Surveys and Contests
Laurel Hill may occasionally conduct voluntary surveys or contests. Surveys may request demographic or other information to help us understand audiences and improve programs. Contests may require contact information for administration and winner communication. Any additional use or disclosure will be described in the applicable form, rules, or notice.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, provide services, maintain appropriate records, comply with legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect our rights. Retention periods vary by information type, relationship, and applicable legal, financial, operational, historical, and recordkeeping requirements.
Cemetery, interment, cremation, property-ownership, historical, archival, donor, financial, and transaction records may be retained for extended periods or permanently when necessary to fulfill Laurel Hill’s legal obligations, operational needs, or historic-preservation mission.
Information Security
Laurel Hill uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Safeguards may include access controls, encryption, secure payment processing, monitoring, employee practices, and vendor-management procedures. No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Therefore, although we believe the measures implemented by us reduce the likelihood of security problems to a level appropriate to the type of data involved, we do not promise or guarantee, and you should not expect, that your information or private communications will always remain private or secure. We do not guarantee that your information will not be misused by third parties. We are not responsible for the circumvention of any privacy settings or security features. You agree that we will not have any liability for misuse, access, acquisition, deletion, or disclosure of your information.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, complete payment-card or bank-account information, medical records, or other sensitive information through a general website form or ordinary email unless Laurel Hill specifically requests it through an appropriate secure method. Contact us if you believe an interaction with Laurel Hill is no longer secure.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. Laurel Hill does not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13 without appropriate parental or legal authorization. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, please contact us so we can review and address the matter.
Third-Party Websites and Services
The Services may link to or incorporate independently operated websites, platforms, tools, or plug-ins, including maps, videos, forms, event tools, payment services, burial-search features, and social-media functions. Laurel Hill does not control and is not responsible for those parties’ privacy, security, accessibility, or content practices. Review the applicable privacy policy before providing information. A provider may combine information collected through an embedded feature with information associated with your account or activity on its service.

- Access information we maintain about you;
- Update or correct certain personal information;
- Change your communication preferences;
- Unsubscribe you from marketing communications;
- Provide information about how your personal information is used or disclosed; or
- Delete certain information when it is no longer required for legitimate organizational, legal, financial, historical, contractual, or recordkeeping purposes.
You may manage optional cookies and similar technologies through the Privacy Preferences link in the website footer and unsubscribe from marketing emails through the link in each message. These choices do not prevent necessary transactional or service-related communications.
To submit a request, use the contact information below. We may need to verify your identity and authority. Requests may be limited by applicable law or Laurel Hill’s legitimate operational, historical, financial, contractual, archival, or recordkeeping obligations. Depending on your location, additional rights, appeal procedures, or regulatory remedies may apply.
