Nurture with Nature: The Circular Patterns of Nature

When

Where

Laurel Hill West

Working with the healing power of plants can help to decrease stress and anxiety, process grief, and improve overall well-being. Combining eco-mindfulness and creative activities, the workshops in the Nurture with Nature series invite participants to learn about the uses and roles of specific native plants through the lens of natural cycles.

Our July workshop pays homage to the traditional Sanskrit creation of mandalas, or circular patterns representing the universe often used in meditation, we will create our own nature mandalas using found plant materials in Laurel Hill’s green burial gardens. Although temporary, like the seasons themselves, mandala creation allows us to slow down and appreciate the beauty of individual natural objects for their unique qualities while having a better appreciation for the cyclicality of life itself.

BRING A CAMERA! While measures will be made to best secure your creations upon departure, nature mandalas made with fresh materials are designed to be temporary. The best way to document your masterpiece is with photography, even if it’s just a cell phone!
