Cinema in the Cemetery: Night of the Living Dead
George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead (1968) is an independent zombie horror film following the plight of a group under assault by flesh-eating reanimated corpses in rural PA. Although the monsters that appear in the film are referred to as “ghouls”, they are credited with popularizing the modern portrayal of zombies in popular culture.
