Join experienced, knowledgeable guides from the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club for a birding walk at Laurel Hill East or Laurel Hill West, and learn to identify birds by sound and sight and record them in the Great Backyard Bird Count, an annual global event during which participants around the world record data about local birds to help scientists better understand and protect them. All ages welcome; no birding experience needed!

GETTING TO LAUREL HILL WEST:

• We will begin at Laurel Hill West’s CONSERVATORY, inside the cemetery (not the first building you see when you enter off Belmont Ave).
• The Conservatory at Laurel Hill West is located at 215 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd PA 19004.
  • When you arrive and enter the cemetery you will pass a set of gates and follow the white dashed line on the road to the Conservatory.
  • NOTE FOR UBER/LYFT RIDERS: Have your driver enter the cemetery following the above directions—otherwise, you will have a 10-minute walk to the event location.

• Free and accessible parking is available outside the Conservatory.

GETTING TO LAUREL HILL EAST:

• We will depart from the Gatehouse at Laurel Hill East’s main entrance, located at 3822 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132
• Parking is available in front of the loading dock garage doors across the street from the cemetery entrance (you will not be towed).
• Street parking is available in the neighborhood on Indiana Ave., N. 35th St., W. Clearfield St., N. Shedwick St., and/or N. 34th St.
