Cremation is now more popular than burial, and this tour spotlights Laurel Hill West’s columbaria. This site is the final resting place for many notable Philadelphians, including Joseph Beam (author and activist), Lon Jourdet (Penn basketball coach and “zone defense” pioneer), Elizabeth Snellenberger (Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee), and other figures from politics, and entertainment. There’s even a Great War Austrian cavalryman!
