Nurture with Nature: Journey & Journal into Spring
Working with the healing power of plants can help to decrease stress and anxiety, process grief, and improve overall well-being. Combining eco-mindfulness and creative activities, the workshops in the Nurture with Nature series invite participants to learn about the uses and roles of specific native plants through the lens of natural cycles.
Our hands-on May workshop kicks off the series by welcoming Spring. Join us for a slow, guided walk through Laurel Hill’s green burial gardens while harvesting a beautiful mix of native plant materials to create a journey stick. Journey sticks are similar to story sticks made by Native Americans and are incredibly personal, tactile, and intentional keepsakes that commemorate your route.
After creating your journey stick, we’ll journal together — reflecting on your journey through the gardens, any intentions you set, and anything you’ve released along the way. This might look like written words, or sketching your collected objects.
