Brew a cup of tea and join us for Veterans’ Death Salon, part of a series of Death Salons that aim to create affinity spaces for specific loss experiences or identities.

Death Salons offer a space for strangers to meet and talk openly and authentically about death. As participant-led discussions, Death Salons have no agenda, objectives, or themes beyond increasing awareness of death and making the most of our finite lives.

The session is free and open to all who identify with Veteran loss experiences or identities and will be facilitated by Dr. Qwynn Galloway-Salazar (Doc Q), a Veteran and death doula based in Atlanta, GA.

Meet our facilitator!

Dr. Qwynn Galloway-Salazar (Doc Q) is an applied scholar-practitioner transforming how communities and nations support Veterans and their loved ones as they age, face end-of-life, experience bereavement, and navigate survivorship. As Founder & CEO of In Their Honor and Senior Vice President of Engagement & Transformation at PsychArmor, she blends storytelling, public health, and compassionate community design to advance culturally responsive, trauma-informed models of care.

Beginning in 2026, Dr. Galloway-Salazar joins the executive leadership of the International Doula Life Movement as Director of Veteran-Centered Education & Doula Practice Innovation. In collaboration with Anna Adams (IDLM) and Deborah Grassman (Opus Peace), she is co-leading the first global Veteran-focused doula education initiative.

An Army Veteran, end-of-life doula educator, and USA Today’s 2024 Woman of the Year, she uses story, performance, and community dialogue to create environments where every life is honored and held with care. Her work is guided by a belief she carries everywhere: every nation has its warriors, and every warrior deserves dignified care through the end of life.
