The Rest in Peace 5K Run invites runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to wind their way through the headstones in beautiful historic Laurel Hill.

Pay tribute to Laurel Hill’s permanent residents as you pass tombstones and mausoleums, then keep the spirit alive at our After-Run Party! Cool down with killer beats from a local DJ, toast your effort with a cold beer or sparkling non-alcoholic option (your first one’s on us if you’re bibbed up!), and refuel with snacks and plenty of cheer.

Costumes are encouraged; fun is guaranteed; awards for best dressed, top runners, and more. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Laurel Hill, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of both our historic grounds – Laurel Hill East and Laurel Hill West.

The Friends of Laurel Hill thank Brown Brothers Harriman, The Haverford Trust Company, John B. Ward & Co., Nyman Group, Wolfe Scott Builders and Construction Managers, Acrisure, Aegis Property Group, Archer & Buchanan Architecture, Herbert E. MacCombie, Jr. P.E., Consulting Engineers & Surveyors, Howe, Keller & Hunter, PC, Laura Solomon & Associates, and the Mount Airy Tap Room for their generous support of the RIP5K.

Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Click here or contact donate@laurelhillphl.com to learn more.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Unique and challenging, the Run winds through Laurel Hill East, including the challenging hills and elevations of the South section. The course is ADA-accessible. Two water stations will be set up along the course. Kilometer markers and color-coded vinyl arrows on the pavement will indicate your race progress as well as direction.* Scroll down for course map.

Kilometer 1 – Green
Kilometer 2 – Yellow
Kilometer 3 – Black
Kilometer 4 – Blue
Kilometer 5 – Red

*You’ll see two sets of colored arrows where routes overlap in the same direction (i.e. yellow & blue arrows side-by-side heading south in the Central section).

Bringing spectators? Your friends are totally welcome to cheer you on and enjoy the festivities. The check-in courtyard is a great place for cheering as the race passes through. This race is a fundraiser – donations are appreciated and encouraged! And, we just got a Venmo account, so giving is now just a click away!
