U.S. Marine Corps Birthday Observance
The U.S. Marine Corps 250th Birthday Observance begins at the grave of General Jacob Zeilin, 7th Commandant of the Marine Corps during the Civil War. A special Veteran’s Day tour of heroes killed in action and buried at Laurel Hill East will follow.

GETTING HERE:
- We will depart from the Gatehouse at Laurel Hill East’s main entrance, located at 3822 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132.
- Parking is available in the lot directly across from the main entrance. Do not park in front of any loading dock doors.
- Street parking is available in the neighborhood on Indiana Ave., N. 35th St., W. Clearfield St., N. Shedwick St., and/or N. 34th St.
- You may also park inside the cemetery, on any road that is big enough for you to pull your car over far enough for another car to pass.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
- The Observance is rain or shine.
- We recommend dressing warmly, wearing sturdy walking shoes, and bringing a water bottle.
- Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the event time to check-in inside the Gatehouse office with the Friends of Laurel Hill staff.
- Restrooms and water fountain are available at the Gatehouse.
- The Gift Shop will be open.
ACCESSIBILITY:
- Accessible parking spots are available in the Gatehouse courtyard on a first-come-first-served basis.
- This tour will go off paved roads and into grassy-uneven terrain.
