Members-Only Programs are exclusive to active members of the Friends of Laurel Hill. As a benefit of your membership donation, supporters are invited to get a view of Laurel Hill that no ordinary visitor will ever experience with special programs and tours.

Join Laurel Hill’s Superintendent, Bill Doran, for a behind-the-scenes tour that could only be led by the man himself. Hear some of his entertaining – and sometimes macabre – tales of what happens behind closed doors at two historic cemeteries. Bill has overseen hundreds of burials, set and repaired thousands of gravestones, and personally cared for each and every one of the combined 265 acres of Laurel Hill East and Laurel Hill West, in his more than 30 years with the cemeteries. Members will have the opportunity to dig deeper and learn about the many stories and graves that remain hidden from view. No one knows more about the unofficial history of Laurel Hill than him! Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes.

The walking tour will take place on Saturday, May 20th at 1 PM, departing from Laurel Hill East’s Gatehouse entrance at 3822 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132. Limited parking is located in the lot across the street from the Gatehouse.

The cost is free to members. Space is extremely limited – PLEASE LIMIT ONE TICKET PER MEMBER. Members must be registered in advance to attend. If you are not a member and want to join us, you can become a member here.

Note: There will not be a waitlist for this program.

A reminder email with information on directions, parking, and visiting guidelines will be sent to ticket holders a few days before the program start day.
